Practicum Experience

Copper Plate - Fall 2021

This fall I had the opportunity to instruct a metals lesson for 5th grade.  I guided the class through the process of planning an effective design before proceeding to working on the final medium.  It was rewarding to work with such an energetic group with such fun materials.  The project gave some freedom in working with creative letterform, and it was fun to see the students find words and titles that were important to them and find ways to make their designs meaningful.  I learned a lot about scope management and pacing, and look forward to implementing some longer lessons in the future.
